How it happens on AIK
Scroll through the process below. Each stage is designed to protect privacy while still giving enough information to make a serious decision about whether to progress.
Create your account
Create an account for yourself or, with clear consent, for an adult son, daughter, brother, sister or another family member. Account creation is free.
Build a thoughtful profile
Add the information that helps others judge suitability: age, location, profession, education, marital status, Islamic background, lifestyle, family expectations and what you are looking for.
Activate AIK membership
Profile creation is free. Paid membership is required to enter the live network, browse profiles, send requests and communicate after acceptance.
Browse selected details
While scrolling through AIK, members see enough information to assess broad suitability but not the photograph, private contact information or locked personal details.
Send an interest request
If a member, parent or other authorised family account thinks a profile could be suitable, they send a formal interest request. This does not reveal the private photograph yet.
The receiver reviews the request
The receiving individual or family account checks the available details and decides whether to accept or decline. Nothing private is revealed simply because a request was sent.
Acceptance unlocks the private layer
Once the request is accepted, both sides can see the profile photograph, fuller locked profile information and contact details. Secure messaging also becomes available.
Take the conversation forward
Use messaging to clarify compatibility, involve family at the appropriate stage and decide whether the introduction should progress outside the platform.
